Site overview
The Faulk House is an example of regional Mid-Century Modernism by local architect and builder A.D. Stenger. The house is built into and cantilevered over the side of a cliff in Austin's Barton Hills neighborhood. Hallmarks of its design include natural materials (redwood siding and site-mined limestone), low profile, flat roof, and ribbon and clerestory windows. In addition to architecture, the building is significant as the home of humorist and folklorist John Henry Faulk.
