Site overview

Beautifully sited on the banks of the Potomac River, the dazzling white classicl modern structure contains an opera house, a concert hall, and two large theaters. In honor and tribute to John F. Kennedy, many foreign governments contributed materials for the building. The exterior marble facing and most of the superb chandeliers in the lobby space were gifts from Italy.
