The fall foliage is the perfect backdrop to explore and learn about Historic Ravinia. Begin your day with some refreshments in the Ravinia School where Dennis Rodkin of Crain's Chicago will discuss some of Chicago's greatest architectural gems. See Ravinia at the mid-20th century in a presentation that will give a new perspective on the architecture of Ravinia and Highland Park. The presentation will run from 1pm-2:00pm.

Once you've gotten a little background on mid-century modern architecture and design, hop on the trolley to go on a tour of some of Ravinia and Highland Park's greatest structures. A docent aboard the trolley will provide anecdotes about the people and places that continue to make Ravinia a fascinating place. (Make sure to reserve your seat for free by clicking the Eventbrite link below!)

Afterwards, go for a stroll down Dean Avenue to peruse some mid-century inspired playhouse and doghouses that were winners of the Mid-Century Modern Design Challenge. Make sure to jot down your favorites before heading back to Ravinia School at 3pm where mid-century collector Anthony Rubano will discuss how he became interested in the style and what kinds of items he collects.
