A "Designing Woman": Dorothy Riester and her Hilltop House at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park

Virtual Event

Image details

Join us as we tour the mid-century home of multidisciplinary artist Dorothy Riester. Each room tells a story of a life lived fully in art. Designed and built between the late 50s and the early 70s, this home is a celebration of mid-century residential architecture. The house embodies the energy of Riester, from the handcrafted decorative furnishings and lively color scheme, to the carefully curated collection of art and objects within. Riester and her husband Bob were a social couple known for their festive parties.

Hilltop House and Studio director Sarah Tietje-Mietz will be your host for the evening, sharing stories of the home on this virtual tour of an imagined Riester party. So, grab your drink of choice and some party mix, and travel back in time with us for, “A Designing Woman; Dorothy Riester’s Hilltop House.”
