Fannie Davis Town Lake Gazebo

Site overview

In 1966, the Austin Chapter of National Association of Women in Construction announced plans to construct a gazebo on Town Lake. The gazebo was a gift to the citizens of Austin and meant to serve as a lasting tribute to the construction industry. The project was in response to Lady Bird Johnson’s Town Lake Beautification Project and was the first structure built along the shoreline after the lake was created by the construction of Longhorn Dam in 1960.
