Tour Day 2020 Planning Call

The only national program of its kind, Tour Day is devoted to the appreciation of modern architecture in the United States. Tours and events focused on architecture and design of the Modern Movement are hosted by Docomomo US chapters, partners, and leading voices in preservation throughout the country. 

This year, Tour Day may look a little different. If you are interested in hosting a modern tour, join this planning call to hear how you can still have a successful Tour Day event, even during a pandemic.

Docomomo US staff Liz Waytkus and Michele Racioppi will share an overview of Tour Day and what to expect this year, and will be available to answer questions. Special guest speakers Lucy Moore and Kevin Adkisson will give short presentations on creating engaging online presentations and virtual tours.

Lucy Moore, AIA, LEED AP BD + C

Lucy Moore, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is an architect and historic preservation specialist at Quinn Evans in Washington, DC. Her work has focused on the preservation and rehabilitation of modern and late modern architecture. Her experience includes the Conservation Management Plan for Wellesley College’s Science Center (1977); the Historic Structure Report for Carter Barron Amphitheater (1950) in Washington, DC; and the renovation of Ralph Rapson’s Fraser Library (1962) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Lucy is President of the Washington, DC Chapter of Docomomo US and has served on its board for five years. She is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA). Active in her community, she leads city-level reviews of commercial property projects in her local historic district.
