Docomomo US was recently made aware of the demolition threat to High Ridge Park, a commercial office park in Stamford, Connecticut designed by the famed Palestinian architect Victor Hanna Bisharat. The current owner, High Ridge Real Estate Owner, is seeking to change the zoning laws to allow them to demolish a portion of the complex.

Local preservationists, Stamford residents, and the Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office have spoken up for the office park’s significance and voiced their concerns with the High Ridge Real Estate’s request. The City of Stamford Zoning Board is planning on hearing the owner’s application on March 26th.

Victor Hanna Bisharat, designed the Jordanian Pavilion at the 1968 World’s Fair in New York City and many other modernist buildings in the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.
