The Friesen Chapel along with an historic grove is threatened with complete demolition due to a pending housing subdivision. The chapel was built in 1945, and most likely designed by architect Donald Edmundson. When built in 1945, it was constructed with glulam. Recent documentation of the structure suggests that the Friesen Chapel may be the first church in Oregon to use glulam arches.

Docomomo US/Oregon will continue to monitor the status of the church and property.
