Houston: Uncommon Modern Tour will showcase undervalued modern architecture in less explored areas of Houston, highlighting Brookhollow Business Park, a 1960s planned commercial community. Located at the intersection of the 610 Loop and Highway 290, Brookhollow consists almost solely of intact mid-rise towers and light industrial buildings constructed in late 1960s through the early 1980s.
The tour will serve as a preview for a November 2015 photographic exhibit of the same title, in partnership with AIA Houston, exploring midcentury commercial vernacular structures hidden in plain sight throughout the city.
